Sarah never did find Narnia - despite extensive searches of dozens of wardrobes - but, at age six, subscribed to Smash Hits magazine, acquired a record player, and decided to sing, dance and write her way into magical lands instead.  A tried and trusted tactic she employs to this very day:

Throughout her teens Sarah performed as a member of the Birmingham Youth Contemporary Dance Company and in various musical theatre productions. She sang with a gospel choir (where she first met fellow Brummie Baebe, Esther Dee!) and trained for two years with an opera singer, before studying at Rose Bruford Drama School.  Sarah has played Shelby in an off-West End run of
Steel Magnolias, toured the country as Shakespeares’s Juliet, and created leading roles in three theatre premieres.  She has starred in BBC and ITV dramas and various films: winning Best Actress at the 2005 Greenwich Film Festival and – most unusually - squeaking her way through the animated feature, A Christmas Carol, as Simon Callow’s mouse!

In addition to her fantastical visits to Fairyland as a Mediaeval Baebe, Sarah is writing a solo album and book, designing a range of photographic cards, and continuing her work as an actress.  On her days off, you can follow the long trail of Kirby grips to find her dancing at a gig, transfixed and shoeless at the cinema, or musing on the strangeness of life whilst rummaging through the odd wardrobe for a glimpse of Aslan…
