Also known as Melanie Garside, Maple Bee was in Mediaeval Baebes for four years her song 'All for Love of One' features on Mirabilis. She also features on The Virgin Queen Soundtrack and Mediaeval Baebes 'Live'.
 

Maple Bee has released three solo albums as to date, Chasing Eva (2003), Hello Eve (2006) and Home (2008). Chasing Eva was originally released as a double album, but was later re-released with a shortened track list and new artwork as in 2004. The album was entirely written and produced by Garside, except two tracks written in collaboration with cello player Andy Nice and an exotic sounding cover version of the classic "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" by Doris Day. Her second album "Home" was released on Xie Recordings in 2009
 

Recorded at in her house and working alone, the album is both intimate and alarming in equal doses. The photos for the artwork for the album were taken by renowned photographer Bill Ling, capturing Maple in stark black and white. 'While You Were Sleeping" was released as an exclusive itunes 3 track single and received 'Alternative Single of The Week' and glowing reviews in the online press. Maple also made available a short video for the album track 'No Place'. This was filmed in Maple's home by Emmy Winning Director and Photographer, Kate Schermerhorn.

Maple’s forthcoming fourth solo album is entitled 'These Four Worlds' is due for official release in Spring 2012. Recorded and written 'entirely in her kitchen' it will also be released on Xie and is due out in the spring of 2012. All of Maple's solo albums are available from her website.
